Seems like this last month has been full of good news!
I started my new drug regimen. I was very nervous at first, metformin can have very harsh results on the stomach. But I was hoping to not have any problems because it can be an awesome treatment for PCOS and restoring fertility.
Week one went by, then week two, then week three. Then week four! I was up to four pills a day with little to no side effects! It was an amazing feeling of accomplishment. I noticed unwanted hair growth slowing down, sex drive slowing down, and food cravings diminishing. The medicine was working and I am well on my way to healthy ovaries again!
My even better news came towards the end of the month in the form of a positive ovulation test! We will find out in a couple of weeks if we were successful. But I can't help but feeling hopeful about it. I even joined a PCOS group on facebook. I wasn't sure I would like being in the group, was mainly worried about whiny women. yes, we all have those moments where we hate the world and need to whine and vent. I was just concerned that would be the whole basis of the group. I was pleasantly surprised to see the weath of helpful information spilling out of the group. Recipe sharing, exercise tips, just general support. So far I am enjoying the support from all the other women going through the same things as me. It is helpful to talk to friends and family, but there is something so much more comforting talking to someone who knows on such a more personal level.

I know it is a short blog for now, but sometimes no major news is good news. : )
